Free Web Page Generators
The term "free web page generators" is used to refer to several different things. One is a website builder, which can be said to generate web pages. This article explains different tools that get the title "free web page generators."
Because free website builders create web pages, it's no wonder that they can be referred to by the synonymous term free web page generator. That they frequently generate more than one web page doesn't belie the usage. Web page generators that are actually website builders are often offered by web hosting companies and domain registrars to assist their customers who do not have coding experience to quickly create a quality web site. Typically dozens, hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands of free website templates are available to choose from. The customer's ability to customize the website varies widely, with some web site builders allowing for very little user input other than text content, and others open to a wide range of adaptations.
But there are other types of free page generators as well, and these focus on creating a single page that has a very particular special purpose and is meant to be integrated with an existing web site. Here are three examples of different types of products that qualify as free page generators:
• SitStay offers an online tool called a Free Web Page Pedigree Generator. Upon the visitor filling in the appropriate information for his or her pet dog or cat or bird, or livestock such as horses and llamas, up to four generations, including the animal's name, type, breed, variety, color, and heritage, a pedigree is generated. The result is provided as HTML so that the visitor can post it on his or her web site. The visitor has a choice of text size, background color, and text color, and can supply the proper terms for males and females in the pedigree (such as sire and dam).
• WareSeeker.com offers a downloadable tool called a Sales page Generator, which is made for Windows ME, Windows NT,3.x and 4.x, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. This tool creates sales copy pages for ecommerce products.
• Google has a feature called Google Places. Google Places offers a free listing to any business. By registering for an account, a business using Google Places can make sure it can be easily found on Google. Google Local also helps you find local Google Places pages. The page allows the business to post photos, sales and other special offers, and share public responses to the business. Insights—Google's name for some analysis of the page's use—allows the business owner to make better decisions. The special Google Tags feature allows the business to be promoted on Google search and on Google Maps.
